Sound Issues iOS
You can alter the quality of the sound on your iPad by going to settings and adjusting the Equaliser. We have found that the “Classical” setting gives a nice rounded tone to the MiM App notes as does the “Piano” setting. You can experiment with the settings to find one that you prefer. You can setup MiM to play through an external speaker as you would when listening to music through Bluetooth or other external speaker.
Here’s how to adjust the Equaliser on your iPad to optimize the sound for the MiM App:
1. Accessing the Equaliser:
- Open the Settings app: Tap the grey gear icon on your iPad’s home screen.
- Navigate to Music: Scroll down and tap on “Music.”
- Find EQ: Look for the “EQ” option within the Music settings.
2. Choosing an Equaliser Preset:
- Select an EQ preset: You’ll see a list of pre-defined equaliser settings (e.g., Rock, Pop, Jazz, Classical, etc.).
- Try different presets: Experiment with each preset to see which one sounds best with the MiM App.
- Customize (Optional): If you’re more advanced, you can often customise the EQ by adjusting individual frequency bands.
3. Testing and Adjusting:
- Play some notes through the MiM App: Listen carefully to how the sound changes with each EQ setting.
- Fine-tune: Adjust the settings slightly to find the perfect balance for your listening preferences.
Important Notes:
- Equaliser Availability: The exact location and availability of the Equaliser settings may vary slightly depending on the iPad model and the version of iOS installed.
- Personal Preference: The best EQ setting will vary depending on the type of music you’re listening to, or in the case of MiM the tunes you are playing and your personal preferences, and the quality of your headphones or speakers.
- By following these steps, you can easily adjust the Equaliser on your iPad to enhance your listening experience with the MiM App.

Play At Your Own Speed
You should play at your own speed and gradually build up confidence and competence in following and playing the notes. As you practice you will find that you will be able to know where the notes are and also be able to count the duration of the notes you are playing. There are no counters, metronomes or waterfall type notes in MiM to rush you. Take your own time to get used to playing the pieces and when you are happy you can go on to either Stage Two or purchase further tunes to practice on.
Use The Lyrics To Help You
As you become more confident you will be able to scan the lyrics provided at the edge of the screen to help you sing the song in your head or out loud as you prefer. It should also help with your timing. Times are provided adjacent to the notes for you to count either out loud or in your head as you play.
